JW Marriott

Sahar Mumbai

Located adjacent to the new International Airport Terminal T2, this five star luxury, 575 keys hotel aims to service the business as well as leisure traveler to Mumbai.

The design is a configured linear block with rooms facing either the airport terminal on one side or a large, reserved green on the other. The linear block joins another wing to form a rough T shape form. This shorter wing faces the entry and profiles slightly to form a crescent shaped drop off zone. This area has an inviting water feature and facade lighting to create a sense of Grand entrance. All the parking and mechanical services are accessed via a ramp, the roof of which is smartly concealed within the landscape.

The lower two floors of the Hotel accommodate the public functions like the Banquets, Restaurants, High-end Retail and the Spa. On the upper floors, five levels of well-furnished hotel rooms sit on top of the public spaces with each room having a large expanse of window to look out. The façade at the upper suite level is robust with punched windows having triple glazed sound proof glass while the lower public levels are richly rendered in Warm Beige Sandstone cladding and Indian motifs in form of metal jaalis for the openings. This ethos matches with the hotel brands outlook of luxury and understated elegance.

As in any hotel; the circulation and service areas require special attention and the architectural layout strived to achieve this with the best flow possible.
