The Trees is a residential project in Vikrohli for Godrej Properties. This development spread across 6.7 acres comprises of apartments, community greens and convenient retail.The vision was to structure the development around the site’s natural heritage and existing trees. The overall design embraces the principles of identity, community, connectivity, flexibility and sustainability.

The built form responds to the existing site conditions with the residential towers being organised as a perimeter block which occupy a minimal footprint. The perimeter blocks create a strong urban edge and form courtyards that are programmed with common amenities and landscape. The towers vary in height in response to the scale of the courtyard and the program. The parking is located in two basements to ensure that the courtyard is free of vehicular movement. Each residential tower offers unique views of the surrounding mangroves and the landscaped courtyard.

Breezeways are located strategically between the towers to form a series of smaller courts which connect the tower lobbies to the large central courtyard which houses the common amenities. The focus was on creating a vibrant public realm which is absent in most residential developments of today.
